RIP White Pumpkins

So we went to pick up our white pumpkins from my mother's house. They were storing in her extra fridge in the garage. When we got to them they were all shriveled and not good for carving, pie, or seeds. So sad. Five beautiful pumpkins all shriveled up. They did not get to experience all the splendor Halloween had to offer them. We learned for next year. They were planted too soon. I think next year we will try blue pumpkins along with the whites.

We did manage to buy two regular orange pumpkins and carve them. My son spent about 3 or 4 hours perfecting his Santa Cruz screaming hand. It looks pretty darn good. Not only does he get straight A's. He is very talented in the art department. Not sure what I did right, but he is an awesome kid! Hope that luck strikes twice.

And as for my pumpkin, I had to make an owl for Hoots. For anyone who doesn't know, when I got my first ultrasound the baby looked an awful lot like an owl, so we nicknamed the baby "Hoots."

Happy HALOWEEEEEEEN!!!
